Rock Band welcomes Thursday as it usually does with 6 new songs and a song pack to go along with them. But that's it for Add-On content this week. I wonder if there's somebody out there who's bought every song ever released for Rock Band. That investment's gotta hurt, but I bet it's endless hours of fun!
Demos
I either haven't played the demos or there just haven't been any demos for a few weeks now. I think I'm going to just play a level or two of Bionic Commando: Rearmed and do a write up for that. Too much gaming to be done, so few hours in the day!

I was originally considering waiting on Bionic Commando: Rearmed until Trophies were released as it's no secret that I'm addicted to Trophies and all the hoops I must jump through to get some of them. After talking to some people on my PSN Friend's List, I decided to get it now. I already had the $9.99 required for the game on my Wallet waiting for the game's release when we thought it was coming out in May, and figured why not practice on it now and be primed for the Trophy release.
Now it does take some getting used to but after a few tutorials and playing through a level or two you start to get the hang of the swing mechanic and it works pretty well. I still don't have the timing down as tight as I would like it, but I'm progressing along.
The look of the game gives you the nostalgia you'd expect for the original game but the updated look fits very well. Things are nice and crisp, and the old skool in-game music has been remixed but sounds vintage. Toss in a lot of nice features like a games database that you build as you play the game adding little bits of information as you progress, co-op, and multiplayer and this little gem goes the distance. Hell, even IGN gave it a 9.4 rating. Once Trophies are included there's nothing to stop any PSN user from buying this game.
Street Fighter Alpha is a great fighting game, and for $5.99 you can't really go wrong to just have just in case on your PSP. So far I've purchased one PSone Classic and I haven't touched it in months! Great game, just so wrapped up in so many others right now. I just asked a friend if it were possible to own too many games, maybe that's a sign that I have a problem..... Nah!

BioShock Theme is sadly disappointing. The main icons show some creativity but the icons under each menu are pretty lacking. The background looks like a web photo taken of a scene in the game tossed in at the last second.
I'm usually very conscience about the language I use here on the blog as we probably get some younger Google searchers hitting is up, but there's no other way of putting this. The two Bionic Commando: Rearmed themes are the fucking shit! Whoever made these two should make ALL themes from here on out. Background fits great and doesn't get in the way. Icons are dope as hell on both accounts and each uses a nice Trophy icon. I like the BLUE theme a little better but the RED one is real nice too. Neither employ any sounds other than the defaults but these don't need them after how crisp everything else is. I may have a new theme.
Wallpapers
The two Bionic Commando: Rearmed wallpapers aren't bad looking, but I only really like one of them. I had to take a double take at the second one as it looks squished. I thought I accidentally downloaded the standard definition wallpaper at first. Wallpapers follow the red and green "theme" you see pretty heavily in the games.
Hot Shots Golf Open Tee 2 wallpapers are actually great for the existing Hot Shots themes. I didn't much care for the wallpapers they chose but these would work well. Look good, fit the game, but are far less cluttered.
Madden NFL 09 wallpapers are nice and crisp, but I think only the hardcore Madden fans will use it as a background. Personally I just think there are better background options that better fit with existing themes or are already build into said themes.
Before I "game off into the moon set" I noticed this article over at PS3 Fanboy about a thief who held up an EB Games store because only a PS3 could save his family. Told the clerk that his family had been held hostage and the only ransom that would do was a PlayStation 3. Check the link for full details.... people really do think of everything don't they?
